“To engage in constructive activities that supports all of Guernsey County, especially small and family-run farms and local independent businesses, while creating a vibrant educational marketplace for the benefit of our community.”

Homegrown, Handmade or Home baked
Market Day
1) Vendors shall sell only agricultural, horticultural, food items or craft items that are homegrown, homemade or home-baked.
2) Vendors must supply their own tents, tables and chairs.
3) Vendors of the Guernsey County Farmers Market (GCFM) are to park in the specified area (s). Parking is permitted on the corner of Steubenville Ave & North 7th Street.
PLEASE Move your vehicle as quickly as possible so other vendors may unload.
4) Benches are for customer usage. Vendors may not use them for display or storage.
5) No pets are permitted by vendors.
6) Vendors must remove unsold produce/ material and clean up their space and reset benches before leaving the market. Vendors who rent space are responsible for cleaning
up their area before leaving the market. Failure to cleanup could result in a $10.00 (ten) dollar fine.
7) Vendors need to stay until 1pm on Fridays, or until sold out. Please bring sufficient product/ items to last the entire market.
Space Assignment
8) Space assignments are done by the GCFM board/ officers. All decisions by the board/ officers are final. Full time vendors will have permanent assigned spaces.
9) Vendor spaces not assigned to permanent vendors will be assigned on a first come first serve basis. Note – Craft vendors will be subject to waiting list due to the limited space available.
10) Vendors who miss two consecutive market days without notifying one of the officers /market manger are subject to loosing their permanent space. Another location may be assigned, or if there is a waiting list, then vendors may be subject to being placed on the bottom of the waiting list.
11) Vendors may only sell at the GCFM locations on the announced day of the market which is Friday – May to October, set up and open by 9am until 1pm.
Fee Structure
12) Any vendor can pay a separate Non-Refundable annual fee per space for each of the markets for the entire market year either on the first day of setup or by the last Friday of May. Annual membership is required for permanent space assignment. Or fee can be paid day per day. All fees are Non-Refundable – No Exception.
Vendors arriving after the last week of May-the first week a weekly fee will be accepted. At the second week a vendor must decide if they shall continue to pay the weekly rate (even if that fee goes over yearly fee) or pay the yearly fee in its entirety.
Yearly fee - one hundred dollars/ corner one hundred & twenty-five. Weekly fee - ten dollars
13) Each permanent vendor has one (1) vote per paid space.
Produce Vendors
14) Produce that is not in season locally can be purchased for resale but must be labeled as such. There is to be absolutely no auction house produce. Vendors purchasing U-PICK produce are allocated 25% of their total produce amount – not their total displayed merchandise for sale. UPICK must be labeled as such.
15) Radical price cutting of top quality produce is prohibited. Violation results in removal of product and written warning. Poor quality or overripe produce must be labeled as such and can be sold for a discounted price. If in dispute decisions by the board/ officers are final.
Guidelines
16) Vendors must have their prices displayed along with the member’s name, business name (if applicable), address and phone number. All required licenses must be available for inspection.
17) Vendors may not sell as a franchise or use franchise trademarks, logos, etc at the market. No flea market items, weapons of any type or other questionable items are permitted.
18) It is the RESPONSIBILITY of each vendor to comply with all Federal, State and County regulations pertaining to their products. Each vendor is responsible for their own products food safety.
19) Violations of any market regulation will be dealt with by the market president/ manager and/or GCFM board/ officers.
* 1st violation – verbal warning to a member/ vendor
* 2nd violation – written warning
* 3rd violation – suspension and/or expulsion. NO refunds on fees. A vendor will forfeit their space upon their expulsion. An expelled vendor can be reinstated the next market season at the annual meeting by receiving a 2/3 majority vote of the voting members present.
20) These rules are subject to change or be amended at the Spring Meeting or at a special meeting duly called and convened by the GCFM board/ officers.
21) Every vendor (s) group is responsible to comply with all GCFM rules. If one member, partner or employee is not in compliance of rules the entire farm, group, and company is not in compliance.
22) No signs or posting's of any kind are permitted on any statue/ memorial on the lawn. This includes signing of political petitions.
23) The membership roster shall not be shared with any outside business.
24) Fund-raising any group may come one time per season and pay the weekly vendor fee.
They shall not be competition with any vendor and must abide by all rules.
